After completing his MBBS in India, Dr. Gopalamurugan pursued advanced training in the United Kingdom, earning his MD from the University of London for research conducted at St. Thomas’s Hospital, funded by the British Heart Foundation. He further specialized in interventional electrophysiology and device therapy, obtaining European accreditation and serving as an honorary consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Currently based in Chennai, Dr. Gopalamurugan leads the TAVR and Endovascular Therapy programs at MGM Healthcare. He is also the founder and course director of INDIAVALVES, the country's largest course dedicated to transcatheter valve therapies. His affiliations include the General Medical Council (UK), British Cardiovascular Interventional Society (BCIS), European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA), Heart Rhythm Society (USA), Indian Medical Council, and Maharashtra Medical Council.
