Before Travelling For Treatment

You can begin your treatment journey by contacting us. The assigned Hospidio Relationship Manager (HRM) assigned to you will get in touch to discuss the medical history and accordingly guide you further with the suitable options and treatment plan.

Hospidio is associated with some of the best and handpicked hospitals and doctors in India, Thailand and UAE. Our inhouse Hospidio Relationship Manager (HRM) will guide you initially and help with the selection of the best doctor and hospital considering several aspects into consideration, such as nature of illness, type of treatment required, budget, expertise of the doctor, hospital infrastructure etc. To make sure that you understand well about the proposed treatment and are confident about the treating doctor, we even arrange a video consultation on request.

Considering the depth of medical information to be reviewed and assessed, Hospidio aims to deliver the treatment plan within 24 to 36 hours of receiving the valid and complete medical information, including reports, referral letters, radiological imaging, past history etc.

The team at Hospidio makes sure to provide financial counselling to each and every patient before they travel. A complete breakdown of all expenses concerning treatment, lodging, feeding, local travel, medicines and follow-ups is provided beforehand so that the patient and the accompanying family members are prepared.

The treatment cost typically includes the cost of preliminary investigations, hospitalisation, doctor’s fee, anaesthesia and medicines and consumables used during the treatment. It does not include the post-operative follow-ups, hotel stay and meals, air tickets and visa cost etc. During the discussion phase, the team communicates all inclusions and exclusions so that the family is prepared and has a clear understanding.

English is a commonly spoken language in the countries that we offer as a destination for your medical travel. Apart from English, we have translators available for other commonly spoken languages such as Arabic, French and German. If required, we can even contact the embassy, which further connects us to translators who speak the regional language of the patient’s country of origin.

The  Hospidio Relationship Manager (HRM) assigned to you will provide you a checklist of things to carry with you before you travel. It shall include all important documentation, such as previous medical reports and summary, visa copies, birth certificates, local ID proof, Debit/Credit card, local phone numbers, culture-specific clothing etc.

There are two ways to apply for a visa: Online mode or Offline mode.

The offline mode requires you to visit the local embassy, fill the form, pay the fee and submit documentation along with your passport. The embassy calls the applicant when the passport with the visa is ready.

The online mode requires you to fill the form online, pay the visa fee and the travel  authorization is received over email, a copy of which must be carried by the patient.

Patients can also travel to Thailand and UAE on a tourist visa and get the treatment done. However, in India, it is mandatory for the patients to secure a medical visa to be able to get any form of treatment done.

Team Hospidio guides the patient through the visa process and  counsels them about the type of visa, visa fee, application procedure etc at the right stage. If required, the visa application can also be submitted by team Hospidio on the patient's behalf.

Team Hospidio makes you feel at home, even when you are miles away in a foreign land. We assign you a dedicated Hospidio Relationship Manager (HRM) who takes care of all your needs and is available 24*7 to assist you with any queries or concerns. From receiving you at the airport to booking hotels and scheduling appointments, managing admission, discharge & billing to coordinating for follow-ups at the hospital - we’ve got you covered!

It is not mandatory to travel with a companion or an attendant for medical treatment abroad. However, it always helps to have a companion for a few days, especially when the mobility or vision or overall functioning of the patient is affected before or after the treatment.

Team Hospidio also helps arrange a general or nursing attendant (24/12/8 hour) and physiotherapy services for patients who need assistance initially after treatment  and may not have come with an attendant.

You do not have to pay any treatment fee in advance. The treatment amount is payable at the hospital on arrival. The payment for other services such as visa application, hotel, consultation etc. can be paid in advance on a case to case basis.

However, if someone wants to pay the treatment amount before travelling instead of carrying cash or cards, they can do so by effecting a payment directly to the hospital’s bank account.

Yes, we help arrange a video consultation with the treating doctor before your trip. Sometimes, if the senior doctor has a full schedule and the call is required urgently, one of the doctors from his team (who will also be a part of the treatment delivery) may be requested to assist with the request.

Hospidio does not charge anything from its patients. The assistance that we provide to the patients is appreciated by the hospitals and therefore, they pay our service fee for making patient coordination seamless for them while delivering the best patient experience. However, it does not mean that the hospital will charge this service fee additionally from the patient. The amount that you pay is only for the treatment.

While Being On Travel

Yes, we provide complimentary airport pick up and drop.

Before admission and after discharge from the hospital, you will be placed in a hotel, apartment or a guest house close to the hospital. If required, we do offer local transfers between accommodation and hospital.

The selection for the accommodation is made before you arrive. The assigned  Hospidio Relationship Manager (HRM) shares the photos of the accommodation along with the per night expenses so that you can make a choice as per the preference and budget.

When you confirm the arrival dates, our  Hospidio Relationship Manager (HRM)  will make the necessary arrangements and confirm the appointment date and time to you.

The treatment begins as soon as the consultation and preliminary investigations are done. It usually takes anywhere from 1 to 3 days to finalise the treatment plan based on investigation results.

We only offer a Private room category to all our patients during their stay at the hospital for treatment. Apart from all modern facilities such as a TV, refrigerator, intercom, wifi, separate bathroom etc, the room also has a separate couch for the attendant to stay overnight.

Yes, your companion can stay with you at the hospital during the admission days in Private room. However during the ICU admission or stay, the attendant is not allowed to stay in the ICU and may be requested to shift to a hotel for an ICU stay lasting more than a day.

The duration of hospital admission varies from patient to patient, depending on the nature of illness and treatment required. The Hospidio Relationship Manager (HRM) will inform you of the treatment duration, length of stay in hospital and in the country during the discussion phase before your travel.

All forms of payment modes are accepted, including cash, bank transfer and payment through Debit / Credit card. The amount of cash you can pay at a time may vary from one country to another. For example, in India, you can deposit up to $5000 in cash per passport holder toward the treatment at the hospital. You are advised to check with the Hospidio Relationship Manager (HRM)  assigned to you about the current rules and regulations as imposed by the government.

You pay as you go and as the billing for consultation, investigations and treatment etc. takes place. However, in case of hospital admission, at least 90% of the treatment estimation needs to be deposited and the remaining before discharge as per the current outstanding.

Your relatives can send the money through outlets such as Western Union and Ria Money. They can also make a bank transfer to the hospital or to you directly and you can make payments through Debit card. In case of any assistance or challenges, you can let our  Hospidio Relationship Manager (HRM) know and he/she will help you with retrieving the money.

The cashless treatment coverage may vary as per the Terms and Conditions of your insurance policy and their direct engagement with the hospital where you will be receiving the treatment. It is always wise to ask your Hospidio Relationship Manager (HRM) to check with the hospital if they accept the insurance for cashless treatment. Otherwise, if your insurance covers treatment overseas, you can pay at the hospital and then directly seek reimbursement from your insurance company later.
