Dr. Waseem Abbas

Dr. Waseem Abbas is an accomplished Medical Oncologist and Hemato-Oncologist with over 20 years of rich experience in diagnosing and treating various cancers. He serves as the Associate Director of Medical Oncology & Hemato-Oncology at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Shalimar Bagh.

An MBBS Gold Medalist from KSMA (2002), Dr. Abbas pursued higher specialization in Internal Medicine at Batra Hospital and Medical Research Centre in 2012, followed by DNB in Medical Oncology from B.L. Kapur Memorial Hospital in 2015. His academic pursuits include specialized training from the University of Oxford, UK, in areas such as Adverse Drug Reactions, Chemotherapy Drug Interactions, and Pharmaco-Vigilance. He is also ECMO-certified by the European Society of Medical Oncology and ECMO Europe.

Dr. Abbas is a strong advocate for Precision Cancer Therapy, ensuring treatment plans are tailored to the patient’s genomic profile for maximum efficacy. He holds significant expertise in chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy, with a special focus on immunotherapy research in cancer treatment. His clinical interests cover a wide spectrum of cancers, including those of the breast, lung, ovary, esophagus, stomach, colon, and uterus, as well as blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma.

A prolific researcher, Dr. Abbas has participated in multiple national and international clinical trials as a Principal Investigator and has over 50 publications to his name, contributing to significant breakthroughs in oncology. Additionally, he serves as an advisor to various biopharmaceutical research and development initiatives and provides professional guidance to international and national oncology fellows and students.
