Prior to his current role, Dr. Dhakre served as a Consultant HPB & Liver Transplantation Surgeon at Fortis Hospital and S.L. Raheja Hospital, Mumbai. He also held the position of Associate Consultant in the Department of HPB Surgery & Liver Transplantation at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai.

Dr. Dhakre has made significant contributions to medical literature, with numerous publications in international peer-reviewed journals. He has authored papers on rare diseases and patient management post-HPB surgery and liver transplantation. His research has been presented at various national and international conferences, and he serves as a peer-reviewer for several esteemed journals. Notably, Dr. Dhakre co-authored a MUHS curriculum-based textbook for medical students and contributed a chapter on liver tumors in the textbook "Surgical Gastroenterology - Super Speciality."
