Dr. Vijay Waman Dhakre

Dr. Vijay Waman Dhakre is a distinguished Consultant in the Department of Liver Transplant and HPB Surgery at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, Mumbai. He earned his M.S. in General Surgery from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and General Hospital, Sion, Mumbai. Dr. Dhakre further honed his expertise through fellowships in HPB Surgery at Jaslok Hospital and in HPB & Liver Transplant Surgery at Global Hospital, Mumbai.

Before his current role, Dr. Dhakre served as a Consultant HPB & Liver Transplantation Surgeon at Fortis Hospital and S.L. Raheja Hospital, Mumbai. He also held the position of Associate Consultant in the Department of HPB Surgery & Liver Transplantation at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai.

Dr. Dhakre has made significant contributions to medical literature, with numerous publications in international peer-reviewed journals. He has authored papers on rare diseases and patient management post-HPB surgery and liver transplantation. His research has been presented at various national and international conferences, and he serves as a peer reviewer for several esteemed journals. Notably, Dr. Dhakre co-authored a MUHS curriculum-based textbook for medical students and contributed a chapter on liver tumors in the textbook "Surgical Gastroenterology - Super Speciality."
