Dr. Vijay V. Haribhakti

Dr. Vijay V. Haribhakti is a distinguished Consultant Surgical Oncologist and Microvascular and Reconstructive Surgeon with over four decades of experience. He joined Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital in 2014 as the Head of the Oncology Department and has since ascended to the position of Group Chairman of Oncosciences for Reliance Healthcare. His expertise encompasses head and neck cancer, breast cancer, and reconstructive surgery, having performed several thousand successful surgeries in these domains.

Dr. Haribhakti's academic journey is noteworthy. He completed his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Seth G. S. Medical College, Mumbai. Further honing his skills, he undertook a fellowship at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York under Dr. Jatin P. Shah. He also received microsurgical training with Prof. Wily Boeckx in Leuven, Belgium, laser surgery training with Prof. Wolfgang Steiner in Germany, and specialized in head and neck oncology at the Royal National Throat, Nose, and Ear Hospital in London.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Haribhakti has made significant academic contributions. He authored the textbook "Restoration, Reconstruction and Rehabilitation in Head and Neck Cancer," published by Springer International, which was inaugurated by Smt. Nita Ambani. His active participation in national and international forums, delivering lectures and presentations, underscores his commitment to advancing oncological sciences. He is also an active member of six professional societies.
