Dr. Taher Mobin Ahmed Mian Shaikh

Dr. Taher Mobin Ahmed Mian Shaikh is a distinguished liver transplant surgeon with 25 years of experience in hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal surgeries. An alumnus of the esteemed Grant Medical College in Mumbai, he further honed his skills internationally, acquiring a Diploma in Laparoscopic Digestive Surgery in France and completing a fellowship in Liver Transplant & HPB Surgery at the University Hospital in Hong Kong.

His professional journey includes pivotal roles in establishing and leading liver transplant programs at renowned institutions such as Global Hospital Mumbai, Gleneagles Hospital Chennai, and Lilavati Hospital. As an Honorary Assistant Professor of Surgery at Grant Medical College, Dr. Shaikh has mentored numerous budding surgeons.

Dr. Shaikh's clinical interests encompass auxiliary and pediatric liver transplants, shunt surgeries for portal hypertension, acute liver failure management, and treatment of complex liver and pancreatic tumors. His research contributions include studies on clinical safety in collaboration with the WHO and Imperial College London, and presentations on topics like primary bile duct neuroendocrine tumors and post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders.
