With over four decades of experience, he has performed more than 15,000 cardiac procedures, making significant contributions to the field of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. Dr. Joshi was the first to establish open-heart surgery for newborns and infants in Mumbai and Western India. His expertise spans across a wide range of heart-related surgeries, including CABG, minimal invasive open-heart surgery, aortic aneurysm operations, paediatric cardiac surgeries, complex heart valve repair, valve replacements, and heart transplants.

His extensive training includes time at Royal Children Hospital, Melbourne, under the esteemed Dr. Roger Mee, followed by further training at Royal Alfred Hospital, Melbourne, and St. Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. Additionally, he has held academic roles, including Associate Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at KEM Hospital & Seth G.S. Medical College and Grant Medical College & Sir J.J. Hospital in Mumbai.

Dr. Joshi's contributions have been recognized internationally, including receiving the Medical Excellence in Cardiac Surgery Award from Harvard University International (USA) in 2009.
