Dr. Sumit Mrig

Doctor Intro: Dr. Sumit Mrig is a distinguished ENT specialist and one of the youngest cochlear implant surgeons in India and Asia. With over 18 years of experience, he has successfully performed more than 350 cochlear implant surgeries on patients ranging from children to adults, hailing from eight different countries. Notably, he was the first Indian surgeon to initiate an independent cochlear implant program in Africa and has mentored over 14 centers across India to establish their own programs. His team achieved a significant milestone by performing India's first binaural cochlear implant surgery in 2011.

Dr. Mrig's expertise encompasses the treatment of deafness through cochlear implants, BAHA implants, and bone bridge devices. He is also proficient in surgeries for snoring and sleep apnea disorders, management of vertigo disorders, and sialendoscopy for the removal of salivary gland stones. His special interests include sleep apnea, sialendoscopy, and anterior and lateral skull base surgery.
