Dr. SOMASHEKARA.H.R

Dr. Somashekara H R is a seasoned and internationally trained Pediatric Hepatologist and Gastroenterologist. He completed his MBBS from the University of Mysore in 1998, followed by a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in 2005. He then pursued a DNB in Pediatrics from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, in 2009. Further enhancing his expertise, Dr. Somashekara completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London, and a Fellowship in Transplant Hepatology at Birmingham Children's Hospital, UK.

Throughout his career, Dr. Somashekara has been recognized for his academic excellence, including receiving the best outgoing student award from Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. He has contributed to various research papers published in renowned medical journals, focusing on topics such as paraneoplastic papilloedema in children with neuroblastoma and noninvasive markers of portal hypertension in pediatric chronic liver disease.

Dr. Somashekara is proficient in performing procedures such as liver biopsies, abdominal paracentesis, upper GI endoscopies, sclerotherapy, and banding sigmoidoscopy. His dedication to pediatric hepatology and gastroenterology has made him a trusted name in managing complex liver and gastrointestinal conditions in children.
