Dr. Sharmila Agrawal

Dr. Sharmila Agrawal is an accomplished Radiation Oncologist with over 31 years of experience in delivering precision radiotherapy. She has worked extensively in treating head and neck, breast, and gynecological malignancies. Her career spans over two decades, including 13 years as a full-time Radiation Oncologist at Jaslok Hospital and 9 years as a Consultant Radiation Oncologist at Indian Cancer Society’s Lady Ratan Tata Medical and Research Centre.

Dr. Agrawal is a pioneer in precision radiotherapy techniques such as 3DCRT, IMRT, IGRT, SRS, SRT, and SBRT. She has successfully planned and executed treatments for over 400 cases of IMRT and IGRT, primarily in head and neck cancers. She is actively involved in academic research and serves as the principal investigator in an ongoing prospective trial on HPV infection prevalence in newly diagnosed head and neck malignancies at P. A. Khan Hospital, Mumbai.

She has authored chapters on the role of radiotherapy in cervical, breast, and larynx/hypopharyngeal malignancies. Dr. Agrawal has participated in over 200 national and international conferences and has played a pivotal role in the development of radiation oncology departments in Maharashtra.
