Overview:
Dr. Shailesh Raina is an internationally trained and highly acclaimed Urologist with over 40 years of experience. He completed his MBBS and MS from Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, before pursuing his D.Urology from the University of London.
Dr. Raina has been a pioneer in many urological advancements in India. He was the first in India to use the HPS 120 Watts Laser for Prostate treatment and the first to use 180 Green Light Lasers for BPH. He played a significant role in setting up the Stone Clinic at Jaslok Hospital in 1989 and introduced lithotripsy and upper tract endourology (PCNL & URS).
In addition to his clinical expertise, he has contributed significantly to medical research and education. He has been a faculty member for the Diplomate National Board (DNB) in Urology and has conducted the first-ever workshop on Neuropathic Bladder in India in 2006. He was also the only urologist in India to conduct the LDDM (Latissimus Dorsi Dynamic Myoplasty for Atonic Bladder) procedure.
His overseas training includes The Royal Infirmary at Bristol (UK), The Somerset Hospital (UK), The Institute of Urology (London), The OLV Robotic Surgery Institute (Belgium), and The da Vinci Surgical System IRCAD (France).
