Dr. Shailendra Lalwani

Dr. Shailendra Lalwani is a distinguished liver transplant surgeon with over 20 years of extensive surgical experience. He has successfully performed more than 2,000 liver transplant surgeries, encompassing deceased and living donor liver transplants, adult and pediatric liver transplants, swap transplants, combined liver-kidney transplants, and domino liver transplants. In addition to his transplant expertise, Dr. Lalwani has conducted approximately 15,000 complex hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) and gastrointestinal (GI) surgical procedures.

His areas of specialization include advanced laparoscopic and robotic gastrointestinal surgeries, minimally invasive hepatobiliary and colorectal surgeries, and gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary cancer surgeries. Dr. Lalwani was honored with the 'Travelling Fellowship Award' at the Association of Colon & Rectal Surgeons of India (ACRSI) in 2017. He has contributed to various national and international indexed journals and serves on the editorial boards of several medical publications, including 'Surgery,' 'Archives of Organ Transplantation,' 'Journal of Biological Research (Hong Kong),' 'SM Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology,' and 'Journal of Gastroenterology, Liver & Pancreatic Disease.' Furthermore, he is recognized as a postgraduate DNB (Gastrointestinal Surgery) teacher.
