He completed his MBBS from B J Medical College, Pune, where he was awarded a gold medal in Anatomy and Surgery and ranked first in Poona University in his first-year MBBS. His journey into orthopaedics was inspired by his uncle, Dr. Ashok Desai, a renowned orthopaedic surgeon in Pune.

Dr. Desai pursued his post-graduation in orthopaedics at J. J. Hospital and Grant Medical College, Mumbai, where he developed a strong foundation in the field. His interest in paediatric orthopaedics was further cultivated under the mentorship of Dr. A.N. Johari, a well-respected paediatric orthopaedic surgeon. His thesis focused on the etiology and management of recurrent clubfoot, a condition he has since specialized in treating.

To enhance his expertise, Dr. Desai completed international fellowships in paediatric orthopaedics in Seoul, Korea, and in cerebral palsy and gait laboratory studies under Prof. Kerr Graham at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia. His areas of expertise include treating clubfoot, cerebral palsy, hip dislocations, children's fractures, and botox injections for paediatric conditions. His dedication to improving paediatric orthopaedic care has earned him widespread recognition in the medical community.
