Dr. (Brig.) Sameer Kumar is a highly experienced Clinical Director & Head of Cardiothoracic Surgery with over 35 years of experience in the Armed Forces Medical Services. He has performed approximately 5,000+ heart surgeries, including 36+ heart transplants, along with other complex cardiac procedures. He completed his MBBS, MS in General Surgery, and MCh in Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, where he was a First Rank Holder. He also completed the Reev H. Betts Fellowship in Paediatric Cardiac Surgery at AIIMS, New Delhi, and a Clinical Fellowship in Heart & Lung Transplant at University Hospital Wythenshawe, Manchester, UK. He specializes in adult and paediatric cardiothoracic surgery, CABG, valve replacement and repair, aortic surgery, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, pulmonary endarterectomy, and ECMO.
