Dr. Rahul Bhargava is a pioneering figure in the field of hematology and stem cell transplant in India. He began his stem cell transplant journey at Medanta in 2010 and has since successfully completed over 800 transplants. His dedication to making treatment accessible led him to establish 10 low-cost bone marrow transplant centers across India, including at Sarvodaya Hospital, Batra Hospital, and Action Balaji Hospital. Driven by a vision for a Thalassemia- and Anemia-free India, Dr. Bhargava actively collaborates with government programs to deliver affordable transplant care to underserved communities. His dream of creating an integrated center of excellence in hematology, pediatric hematology, and stem cell transplant was realized at Fortis Memorial Research Institute.
In 2016, he became the first Indian doctor to introduce and promote stem cell transplant for treating multiple sclerosis. Dr. Bhargava is widely regarded as one of the leading stem cell transplant and hematology experts in Delhi and Gurgaon. His passion for community health is evident from his initiatives, including screening over 500 school children in Haryana in 2018 and conducting more than 1000 CMEs to date.
