He completed his MBBS from Government Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai, in 1984, followed by an MD in General Medicine from Government Madras Medical College in 1988. His areas of expertise include Diabetology, Rheumatology, Chest Diseases, and Tuberculosis.
Dr. Sundararaman has been instrumental in establishing internal medicine departments in leading hospitals in India and abroad, including setting up the internal medicine department at Apollo Hospital in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He holds fellowships from the American College of Chest Physicians and the Royal College of Physicians, Glasgow, UK. Additionally, he is a life member of the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India and serves as the Course Director of DNB in Internal Medicine.
