Dr. Pankaj N Maheshwari

Dr. Pankaj N Maheshwari is a renowned Urologist with over two decades of experience and currently serves as the Senior Consultant & Chief of Urology, Uro & Robotic Surgery at Fortis Hospital, Mulund. He received his MBBS and MS from Government Medical College, Nagpur, and pursued MCh in Urology from the prestigious Grant Medical College & Sir JJ Hospital, Mumbai, in 1994. Further honing his skills, he obtained a fellowship from the Society International Urology.

Dr. Maheshwari is a pioneer in the use of the Holmium Laser for Urology in India, having introduced it in 1998. He received advanced training in Holmium Laser Prostatectomy under the guidance of Professor Peter Gilling in New Zealand and Dr. Akhil Das at the New York Medical Center. He has since demonstrated this technique across numerous national and international conferences and teaching hospitals.

Before joining Fortis, Dr. Maheshwari held key positions including Chief Urologist at RG Stone Urology Institute and Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital in Pune. His expertise lies in advanced endourology, laser surgery, laparoscopic procedures, and kidney transplantation.

Dr. Maheshwari has authored over 45 national and international publications, with 8 being quoted in the Campbell’s textbook of Urology. His work on PCNL, management of anomalous kidneys, and CAPD catheter placement has been highly acclaimed. He also serves as a Council Member of the West Zone Chapter of the Urology Society of India and the Mumbai Urology Society (since 2003).
