Dr. P. K. Purushothaman

Dr. P. K. Purushothaman is a distinguished Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) surgeon with extensive experience in endoscopic procedures. He holds an MBBS degree from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and an MS in ENT from Madurai Medical College. Currently, he serves as the Senior Consultant in ENT, Head & Neck and Skull Base Surgery at SIMS Hospitals in Chennai.

Dr. Purushothaman has undergone specialized training internationally, including a clinical fellowship in Neurotology and Lateral Skull Base Surgery at Gruppo Otologica in Italy and observational fellowships in Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery in Adelaide and Pittsburgh. He has also been a visiting scholar in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Pittsburgh and participated in the Visiting Physician Programme at St. Vincent Medical Centre and the House Ear Institute in Los Angeles, California. His additional training encompasses TMJ surgery in Leipzig, laryngeal reinnervation surgery in Rouen, rhinoplasty and facial plastic surgery in Singapore and Slovenia, conventional skull base surgery in Sweden and Florida, and sleep surgery in Singapore.

With a special interest in rhinology, endoscopic skull base surgery, and endoscopic ear surgery, Dr. Purushothaman is recognized as an international teaching faculty member in endoscopic skull base surgery. He has numerous research publications in international journals and has presented at conferences worldwide. He is an active member of the Association of Otolaryngologists of India and the Indian Society of Otology.
