Dr. Muruganandham K is a renowned Urologist and Head of the Institute of Renal Sciences at Gleneagles HealthCity Chennai. With over 19 years of experience, he is recognized for his profound knowledge in both General Surgery and Urology. He began serving as a Consultant Urologist in 2006 and has been a professor in the Urology department since 2011.

A pioneer in the field of Renal Transplantation, Dr. Muruganandham was instrumental in initiating and executing several landmark surgeries. He performed the first kidney transplantation surgery at JIPMER, and also achieved the first laparoscopic kidney retrieval from a living related donor at the same institute. His leadership extended beyond the operation theatre as he served as the Founder Secretary and Convener of the JIPMER Quality Council, focusing on patient safety and quality care innovations.

He also led a team that successfully performed the first deceased donor kidney transplantation in the Union Territory of Puducherry. His vast expertise includes Endo-Urology, Uro-Oncology, and various complex urological procedures.
