Dr. Mert Altinel

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mert Altınel is a highly accomplished and internationally trained urologist with more than 24 years of clinical experience, specializing in advanced urological surgeries, kidney transplantation, and minimally invasive procedures. Known for his dedication to innovation and excellence in patient care, Dr. Altinel is currently associated with Acibadem International Hospital in Istanbul, one of Turkey’s most renowned medical institutions.

Dr. Altınel completed his medical education at the prestigious Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1996 and pursued his specialization in urology at Turkiye Yüksek İhtisas Training and Research Hospital, completing it in 2001. Throughout his career, he has actively sought international exposure to deepen his expertise, undertaking advanced fellowships and trainings at world-class centers including Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in the USA, Hospital Center de Gonesse in France, IRCAD Laparoscopy Training Center in Strasbourg, and SLK-Kliniken in Germany. He has held key positions in reputable institutions, most notably serving as Head of the Organ Transplantation Center at the Turkish Kidney Foundation Memorial Hizmet Hospital. Under his leadership, the center saw numerous successful kidney transplants and became a reference point for excellence in urological care in Turkey. With over 5,000 urological surgeries to his name, Dr. Altinel has made significant contributions in treating complex urological disorders including prostate enlargement, kidney stones, male infertility, and bladder dysfunctions.
