Dr. Madhav H. Kamat

Dr. Madhav H. Kamat is a highly esteemed urologist renowned for his pioneering contributions to urological care in India. Born on November 21, 1936, in Mumbai, he pursued his medical education at Bombay University, earning his MBBS in 1959 and MS in General Surgery in 1963. He further specialized in urology, obtaining his FRCS from Canada in 1968. Dr. Kamat's illustrious career includes significant academic and clinical roles. He served as Assistant Professor of Urology at New Jersey College of Medicine, USA, and later as Chairman and Professor of Urology at Grant Medical College and J.J. Group of Hospitals, Mumbai. 

He has been instrumental in advancing endoscopic prostate surgeries and establishing kidney transplant programs in India. His dedication to medical education has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Dr. B.C. Roy National Award for Eminent Medical Teacher and the Pinnamaneni Venkateshwar Rao Gold Medal by the Urological Society of India. Dr. Kamat's extensive research, numerous publications, and active participation in national conferences underscore his commitment to advancing urological care.
