Dr. K. Vengadakrishnan

Dr. K Vengadakrishnan is a distinguished Senior Consultant Physician and Diabetologist at SIMS Hospital, Vadapalani, Chennai, with nearly 19 years of clinical expertise. His foundational training includes an MBBS from Calicut, followed by an MD in General Medicine from Gwalior. He further specialized with a postgraduate diploma in Diabetology and is a proud Fellow of FIMSA.

He served as Assistant Professor at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute, and Associate Professor at Sri Ramachandra Medical College & Research Institute before becoming Consultant Physician at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre and Consultant Diabetologist at MMM Hospital. He is also a Professor of Medicine at SRIHER and contributes as perioperative care physician at AOI.

A committed academic and researcher, Dr. Vengadakrishnan has authored 34+ publications in indexed national and international journals, and penned four chapters for the API Update. He has played a key role in six clinical trials as principal investigator. Further, he contributes to state health policy as an expert medical committee member guiding Tamil Nadu Government on COVID‑19 and systemic hypertension.

A life member of the Association of Physicians of India and Indian Medical Association, he is also renowned for championing holistic perioperative care coordinating with multi‑specialists to anticipate and manage comorbid conditions, enhancing surgical outcomes and minimizing complications.
