Dr. Heidar Arjomand

Dr. Heidar Arjomand is a senior interventional heart specialist and healthcare leader at American Hospital Dubai, where he serves as Group Chief Medical Officer and consultant in interventional, endovascular, and structural cardiology. Since joining the hospital in April 2021, he has also held leadership roles that include Chief of the American Heart and Vascular Institute, Director of the Cardiac Cath Lab, and Director of Cardiovascular Quality. His clinical philosophy emphasizes excellence in clinical quality and patient-centered care.

He graduated summa cum laude from Pecs University Medical School and completed extensive postgraduate training in the United States. During residency, he was elected Chief Medical Resident, and during fellowship at Drexel University College of Medicine he was elected Chief Cardiology Fellow. He later completed additional dedicated fellowship training in Structural Heart Disease Interventions at Henry Ford Hospital, making him one of the relatively few cardiologists with focused advanced training in structural heart procedures such as TAVR, TMVR, and left atrial appendage closure.

Dr. Arjomand is also active in academics and physician training. He has taught medical students, residents, and cardiology fellows, and has held an assistant professor position at Nova Southeastern University in Florida, USA. His academic output includes numerous publications in cardiovascular disease and interventional/structural cardiology, along with chapters in major cardiovascular textbooks.
