Dr. Gourdas Choudhuri

Dr. Gourdas Choudhuri is a renowned and illustrious figure in the field of Gastroenterology & Hepatology. Recognized for his expertise in diagnosing and treating complex gastrointestinal and liver disorders, he is an accomplished medical educator, researcher, columnist, and philanthropist.

With a rich academic background, he completed his MBBS from JIPMER, Pondicherry, followed by an MD in Internal Medicine and a DM in Gastroenterology from AIIMS, New Delhi. His exceptional contributions to gastroenterology have earned him fellowships from prestigious institutions, including the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG), Indian College of Physicians (FICP), Academy of Medical Sciences (FAMS), and the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP - Edinburgh).

Dr. Choudhuri has been a Professor & Head at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, and has contributed significantly to research with over 200 publications in national and international journals. He has also served as the President of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology and holds memberships in reputed international medical organizations such as the World Gastroenterology Organization (WGO), Asia Pacific Association of Gastroenterology (APAGE), and the Coalition for Eradication of Viral Hepatitis from Asia Pacific (CEVHAP).

His special interests include liver diseases, digestive tract disorders, therapeutic endoscopy, and minimally invasive gastrointestinal procedures. Dr. Choudhuri is also a Fellow of the World Health Organization (WHO) for Health Promotion.
