Dr. Firuza Parikh is a globally renowned expert in IVF and reproductive medicine. After completing her MD and DNB in Mumbai, India, she further honed her skills at Yale University School of Medicine, USA, under the mentorship of Dr. Alan DeCherney. She pioneered the first IVF Centre in India at Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai, in 1989, making it a globally recognized institution that attracts patients from across the world.
Recognizing the importance of genetic research in fertility treatments, she established the Genetics Laboratory at Jaslok Hospital in 1999, incorporating karyotyping and Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) techniques to enhance embryo selection and fertility success rates.
Dr. Parikh has played a pivotal role in revolutionizing reproductive medicine in India. With her expertise, her team has delivered over 20,000 babies, setting a benchmark in private healthcare. Her contributions to genetics and IVF have earned her numerous accolades, including the ICON in IVF in India award (2019 & 2022) from the Economic Times Healthcare Awards.
She was awarded a Ph.D. for her groundbreaking research on genetic testing of embryos and is a mentor for Ph.D. and M.Sc. researchers at Mumbai University.
