Dr. Dilek Necioglu Orken

Dr. Dilek Necioglu Orken is a distinguished Professor of Neurology at Memorial Sisli Hospital, Istanbul, with over 35 years of clinical, academic, and research experience in neurology. She is widely recognized for her expertise in cerebrovascular diseases, neurosonology, multiple sclerosis, neuro-intensive care, and headache management. Having completed her medical education at Trakya University in 1989, she went on to specialize in neurology at Şişli Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital. Her academic journey saw her rise to Assistant Professor in 2011 and full Professorship by 2017.

Dr. Orken is a pioneer in neurosonology and stroke diagnostics in Turkey. She holds the International Neurosonology Certification and actively contributes to several European and global initiatives for stroke care, including the European Stroke Organisation's Stroke Unit Certification and the ANGELS Initiative. Her commitment to excellence has earned her memberships in prestigious bodies such as the Turkish Neurological Society, European Stroke Organization, World Stroke Organization, and the American Academy of Neurology.

Throughout her career, she has published extensively on topics including cerebral microbleeds, Parkinson’s disease, and vascular imaging. Her research and clinical practice are deeply focused on improving diagnostics and outcomes for neurological disorders, especially through advanced vascular ultrasound techniques like transcranial Doppler and carotid vertebral Doppler ultrasonography.

Currently leading the Neurosonology Lab at Memorial Sisli Hospital, Dr. Orken also mentors upcoming neurologists, making a significant impact both in clinical excellence and medical education. Her multilingual fluency (English, French, German) makes her a preferred choice for international patients.
