Dr. B. Karthik Rao is an experienced Additional Director of Urology at Fortis Hospital, BG Road, Bengaluru, with more than 14 years of broad surgical experience. He completed his MS in General Surgery from Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore, where he topped his batch, followed by M.Ch in Urology from Government Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai. He also cleared DNB in Urology in his first attempt. His expertise includes kidney stone surgery such as PCNL and RIRS, laser prostate surgery, reconstructive urology, kidney transplantation, and robotic uro-oncological surgery. He is a certified Da Vinci Xi robotic console surgeon and independently performs procedures including robotic radical prostatectomy, radical and partial nephrectomy, and radical cystectomy. He has been involved in more than 200 kidney transplants and serves as the Academic Coordinator for the DNB Urology training program at Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road.
