Dr. Azzam Fayyad

Dr. Azzam Fayyad is a senior Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgeon and the Head of the Orthopaedic Department at Medcare Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital, Dubai. He completed his formal specialist training as a German Facharzt in Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery through the Medical Association of the North Rhine Region in Dusseldorf, Germany. Over the course of his career, he has also earned additional diplomas in sports medicine, chiropractic and manual medicine, diagnostic radiology, and ultrasound, reflecting a broad and multidisciplinary orthopaedic background. He is also a licensed physician with the General Medical Council of Saarland, Germany.

Dr. Fayyad has built extensive experience in sports medicine, orthopaedic surgery, and trauma surgery, including consultant-level work at the Academic Teaching Hospital of the University of Dusseldorf. He also completed residency training at Marien Hospital Wesel, Elisabeth Klinik Olsberg-Bigge, and St. Bernhard Hospital Kamp-Lintfort in Germany. His clinical practice focuses strongly on shoulder, hip, and knee preservation and reconstruction, along with complex trauma and revision procedures.

His advanced surgical interests include shoulder arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair, shoulder stabilization, Bankart repair, superior capsule reconstruction, AC joint stabilization, suprascapular nerve release, and shoulder replacement surgery. He is also highly experienced in knee arthroscopy, including ACL/PCL reconstruction, meniscal repair, multi-ligament surgery, microfracture, OATS procedures, revision ACL reconstruction, and treatment of patellar instability. In addition, he performs hip arthroscopy, labral repair, arthroscopic CAM and pincer resection for femoroacetabular impingement, and osteotomies around the knee and hip, as well as revision arthroplasty of the hip, knee, and shoulder.
