Dr. Atul Mathur

Dr. Atul Mathur is a highly renowned interventional cardiologist based in Delhi, serving as the Director and Chief of Interventional Cardiology at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute. He is also the President of the Indian Council for Carotid Interventions and Cardiovascular Therapeutics India.

A pioneer in complex coronary procedures, Dr. Mathur has expertise in endovascular interventions such as carotid stenting, aortic stent grafting, peripheral arterial and venous angioplasty, and structural heart procedures including TAVR, Mitra Clip, LAAO, BMV and adult VSD closure interventions.

He was the first Indian doctor to obtain a US patent for a medical device used in carotid artery stenting. His contributions extend beyond clinical practice, as he has been instrumental in establishing the Centre for Excellence at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute since 2005, offering specialized training programs for physicians across India and the Asia-Pacific region.
