Dr. Ashwin B. Mehta

Dr. Ashwin B. Mehta is a pioneer in Interventional Cardiology in India and currently serves as the Director of the Department of Cardiology at Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai. With an illustrious career spanning over five decades, he has performed over 1,00,000 angiographies and 20,000 angioplasties. He has also led the way in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) with over 150 successful procedures.

Dr. Mehta has been actively engaged in training and mentoring post-graduate students in interventional procedures, offering hands-on experience. His expertise is recognized internationally, as he is regularly invited as leading faculty at EuroPCR (Paris, France) and CCT (Japan).

He is credited with pioneering cardiac catheterization and angiography in newborns in India and introduced His Bundle Electrography and Primary Angioplasty in Acute Myocardial Infarction.

With over 100 publications, presentations and teaching assignments, Dr. Mehta has also served for more than 25 years as an Hon. Professor of Cardiology at the University of Mumbai and Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College, Sion, Mumbai. His dedication to education and research has made a significant impact in the field of cardiology.
