Dr. Ashu Abhishek is a highly experienced Senior Consultant in Radiation Oncology at Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, Chennai. He is known for his expertise in GI cancers, especially hepatobiliary cancers including HCC with PVTT, pancreatic cancer, oesophageal cancer, colon cancer and anorectal cancers. He has special interest in precision radiation therapy, including SBRT, SRS, SRT, IGRT, VMAT, CyberKnife SBRT and advanced motion-management techniques for tumours of the liver, pancreas, lung and breast.
He is among the early clinicians in North India to initiate and practice CyberKnife SBRT, with focused work in liver cancer treatment. His training includes international exposure at Aarhus University Denmark, Princess Margaret Hospital Toronto, Beth Israel Hospital Harvard University Boston and Sunnyvale USA. He has received recognitions including the ESTRO-TTG mobility grant, ESMO Perceptorship Grant and LOQMAN 2019 award.
