Dr. Arvinder Singh Soin

Dr. Arvinder Singh Soin is internationally acclaimed for his groundbreaking work in liver transplantation. He performed India's first successful liver transplant in 1998 and has since been instrumental in establishing and advancing liver transplant programs across the nation. With a career spanning over three decades, Dr. Soin has conducted more than 3,800 liver transplants, including 350 pediatric cases, achieving a success rate exceeding 90%. His expertise extends to complex liver, gall bladder, and bile duct surgeries, with over 12,000 such procedures to his credit. 

Dr. Soin's educational background is distinguished, having earned his MBBS and MS degrees from AIIMS, New Delhi. He further specialized in liver and gastrointestinal surgery, obtaining FRCS degrees from both Edinburgh and Glasgow. His advanced training includes a five-year tenure at the University of Cambridge and a year at the University of Birmingham, focusing on hepato-biliary surgery and liver transplantation.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Soin has been honored with numerous awards, including the Padma Shri in 2010 for his contributions to liver transplantation in India. He has also been recognized with the RD Birla National Award and the Swasth Bharat Samman Award by Zee TV. Beyond his surgical practice, Dr. Soin is a prolific researcher and educator, having published over 200 original research articles and book chapters, and delivered more than 1,200 lectures globally. His leadership has been pivotal in training over 120 liver transplant fellows, who now lead more than 60 centers across India
