Dr. Behl pursued specialized training in Hand Surgery in the UK (1993-94), Craniofacial Surgery at Providence Hospital, USA (1994-95), and Aesthetic Surgery in the USA (2000-01).

During his tenure in the Armed Forces, he achieved the prestigious position of Director General of Medical Services (Air) and contributed significantly to medical advancements. Recognizing his outstanding service, he was awarded the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) by the President of India in 2010 and later appointed as Honorary Surgeon to the President of India in 2013.
