Dr. Ameya Purandare

Dr. Ameya Purandare completed his MBBS with distinctions in Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, and Obstetrics & Gynaecology from the University of Bombay. He secured first rank and was awarded gold medals for DGO, MD (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) from Mumbai University, FCPS, and DFP. His dedication to women's health has been recognized through numerous awards, including the Best Resident Doctor Award by Seth G. S. Medical College and K.E.M. Hospital, the Prince of Wales Gold Medal, Shri Hansraj Pragji Thackersey Prince of Wales Fellowship, and Dr. B.N. Purandare Memorial Prize.

Dr. Purandare has trained undergraduate and postgraduate medical students in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Family Planning for over 15 years. He is a life member of the Indian College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (MICOG)/FOGSI and the Indian Association of Gynaecological Endoscopy (IAGE). He has received fellowships such as the Fellowship of the Indian College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (FICOG) and the MOGS Dr. C. G. Saraiya Travelling Fellowship. His leadership roles include serving as the Senior Vice President of the Association of Maharashtra Obstetrics and Gynaecology Societies (AMOGS) for 2024-2026 and as Joint Secretary of FOGSI in 2019. He has also chaired the Food, Drugs, Medical, and Surgical Equipment Committee of FOGSI during 2015-2017.

Dr. Purandare has co-authored 31 research papers and book chapters and has been an invited speaker and chairperson at numerous international conferences. His commitment to women's health has earned him several prestigious awards, including the Manyata Champion Award in 2018, Pride of FOGSI Award in 2019, FOGSI Future Award in 2020, AMOGS We for Stree Puraksar by the Governor of Maharashtra in 2022, and the MOGS Mrs. Shailaja and Mr. Narayan Pandit Award for Women Empowerment in 2024.
