Dr Akshay Raj Upadhyaya

Dr. Akshay Raj Upadhyaya is a highly skilled Orthopedic and Joint Replacement Surgeon with more than 15 years of experience in treating a wide range of bone, joint, and sports related conditions. He is currently serving as a Consultant - Orthopedics at the Asian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Faridabad. He completed his MBBS and MS in Orthopedics, followed by advanced fellowship training in Joint Replacement Surgery (FIJR) and earned the prestigious FACS (USA). To further strengthen his expertise, he underwent specialized training in Upper Limb Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty at the world renowned Wrightington Hospital, United Kingdom, one of the leading centers for orthopedic excellence.

Dr. Upadhyaya specializes in joint replacement surgery, arthroscopy, sports injury management, and trauma surgery, with particular expertise in treating knee, shoulder, and hip disorders. He is well known for performing minimally invasive and advanced reconstructive procedures that promote faster recovery, reduced pain, and improved functional outcomes. His clinical expertise also includes joint preservation surgery and the management of degenerative joint diseases, helping patients regain mobility and return to an active lifestyle.

Before joining AIMS, Dr. Upadhyaya was associated with the prestigious Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, where he gained extensive experience in managing complex orthopedic cases. He also completed his Senior Residency at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) and Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital, New Delhi, further strengthening his clinical and surgical expertise. In addition to his clinical practice, he has authored several research publications in reputed orthopedic journals and is an active member of leading professional organizations, including the Indian Orthopedic Association, Delhi Orthopedic Association, Indian Arthroscopy Society, and ISKSAA, reflecting his commitment to advancing orthopedic care through research and continuous learning.
