Dr. Ahmed Kemmou

Dr. Ahmed Kemmou is a highly experienced general surgeon and the Director of General Surgery Division at American Hospital Dubai, with more than three decades of clinical experience. He has a strong interest in treating benign and malignant disorders affecting the stomach, colon, liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas, thyroid, and adrenal glands. His profile reflects deep expertise in general surgery, robotic surgery, colorectal surgery, endocrine surgery, cancer surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and hernia surgery.

He is recognized as an innovator in minimally invasive and robot-assisted surgery. Before joining American Hospital Dubai, he worked in the United States as a General Surgeon in West Virginia, General Surgical Oncologist in Arizona, and Robotic General Surgeon in Arizona. His academic and clinical pathway includes medical education in Morocco, research fellowship experience at Harvard Medical School, residency training at the University of Illinois, and further advanced surgical training in the United States.

An additional highlight of his recent work is his role at American Hospital Dubai in advanced robotic surgery. In 2024, Gulf News reported that he performed Dubai’s first robot-assisted Whipple procedure at the hospital, reflecting his involvement in highly complex hepatopancreatobiliary and robotic surgical care.
