Dr. A B Gopalamurugan

Dr. A B Gopalamurugan is a globally recognized interventional cardiologist and electrophysiologist, renowned for his groundbreaking work in transcatheter valve therapies. With over 20 years of experience, he has been instrumental in introducing and performing several pioneering cardiac procedures in India, including the country's first Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement (TMVR), and Transcatheter Tricuspid Valve Replacement (TTVR).

After completing his MBBS in India, Dr. Gopalamurugan pursued advanced training in the United Kingdom, earning his MD from the University of London for research conducted at St. Thomas’s Hospital, funded by the British Heart Foundation. He further specialized in interventional electrophysiology and device therapy, obtaining European accreditation and serving as an honorary consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Currently based in Chennai, Dr. Gopalamurugan leads the TAVR and Endovascular Therapy programs at MGM Healthcare. He is also the founder and course director of INDIAVALVES, the country's largest course dedicated to transcatheter valve therapies.
