Über Doktor
Dr. Atila Tanyeli is a globally respected pediatric hematologist–oncologist with nearly 47 years of expertise. After earning his MD from Istanbul University and completing pediatric training at Cukurova, he became Associate Professor in 1989 and full Professor in 1996. From 1987 to 2014, he led the Pediatric Bone Marrow Center at Cukurova University. Later, he headed the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Clinic and Bone Marrow Transplant Center at Yeni Yuzyil University (2014–2016). Since 2016, he directs the Pediatric Hematology–Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Memorial Sisli Hospital.
His academic output includes around 89 scientific publications and over 150 national/international articles, plus numerous book chapters and editorships. His research spans thalassemia, hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation, fungal infection in pediatric transplant patients, and ischemia-reperfusion injury studies.
Awards include numerous professional accolades and recognitions. He’s an inspector for JACIE and a member of European Bone Marrow Transplantation, American Society of Hematology, European Society of Hematology, BFM Assembly, EHA, SIOP, and domestic Turkish pediatric oncology societies. He also heads both the Pediatric Cancer Association and Hospital Volunteers Association.
